The color
Cinnamon is produced by the bl allele of the brown gene — the most recessive form of it. Both parents must carry it, which makes cinnamon one of the rarest British Shorthair colors. It is lighter and warmer than chocolate, with a distinctly reddish tone. Solid cinnamons have copper eyes.
Cinnamon also appears in patterns — cinnamon marble (o 22) shows the warm color in bold swirls on a lighter ground.
What we look for
- A warm, even cinnamon tone without gray
- Copper eyes with good depth of color
- Classic British type and a dense, plush coat
