FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I reserve a kitten?
Choose an available kitten (or join the waitlist), send us a message and we will set up a video call. A deposit holds your kitten; the balance is paid at go-home. See the full reservation process.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is $200. It reserves your kitten and is deducted from the price; the balance is paid on pickup day. Deposits are non-refundable — if something truly exceptional happens, talk to us and we will review it individually.
I saw a cheaper kitten online. Why is yours more?
Kittens listed far below the usual price for a registered British are very often scams: photos copied from real catteries, a deposit or full payment by Zelle, Cash App or gift card, then extra “shipping” or “insurance” fees — and no kitten. A lower price can be genuine when it comes straight from a registered cattery’s own website with a history you can check. Our prices are among the best for TICA-registered golden and silver British Shorthairs, and our deposit is only $200. Send us the link and we will tell you honestly what we see. More in our guide to kitten scams.
How do I know PrettyBrity is legitimate?
Read our 5.0 Google reviews and look through our Instagram, then ask for a live video call — we do them every day. You reserve with a $200 deposit, not the full price, and your kitten goes home with its TICA registration and an official Florida health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
When can my kitten come home?
Our kittens can go home from 8 weeks of age; most leave between 8 and 14 weeks, after age-appropriate vaccinations and a veterinary check. That time with their mother and littermates helps them grow into confident, healthy adults.
What comes with the kitten?
Your kitten goes home vaccinated for its age, dewormed and litter-box trained, with its TICA registration, veterinary records and an official Florida health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
Does my kitten come with a health certificate?
Yes. As Florida law requires, every kitten is examined by a licensed veterinarian before going home and comes with an Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate).
What should I buy before my kitten comes home?
Start with a carrier, bowls, a scratching post, a starter litter box and the food we recommend. Our new kitten checklist lists everything we use for our own cats, with a printable PDF.
Are your kittens registered?
Yes. PrettyBrity is a TICA-registered cattery, and our breeding cats carry TICA (and in some cases WCF) pedigrees.
Where are you located?
We are a Florida cattery serving families across the state. For our kittens’ safety we do not host visitors or share our home address: we show kittens on live video, and on go-home day you pick up at our veterinarian’s office or we deliver.
Why can’t I visit the cattery?
Young kittens’ immune systems are still developing, and visitors can unknowingly carry viruses such as panleukopenia or respiratory infections on clothes, shoes and hands. A closed cattery protects every litter. Instead, we do live video calls whenever you like, and you meet your kitten in person at our veterinarian’s office on pickup day.
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver personally to most of Florida for $200; the Panhandle may cost a little more. Out-of-state delivery is discussed individually — just ask.
Can I see the kitten before I pay in full?
Absolutely — on live video calls, as often as you like. You will see your kitten move, play and interact before pickup day.
Which colors do you breed?
Our signature colors are golden and silver shaded and chinchilla, plus our Munchkin line. We are adding chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, fawn and marble — see the color guide.
What is the difference between golden and silver?
Both are tipped colors with green eyes. Golden has a warm apricot undercoat; silver has a bright white-silver undercoat. Read our golden vs silver guide.
Are British Shorthairs good for apartments?
Very. They are quiet, calm and do not need a lot of space, which makes them one of the best breeds for condos and apartments.
Do you sell kittens for breeding?
Our kittens are placed as companion pets. Breeding rights are discussed individually with registered catteries.
